Once Again, Your Vote Counts!
I heard about this special that AMC Theaters is offering. On February 24th, you can buy a ticket to see all five Best Picture Oscar nominees. I'm kind of tempted to go, but I'm also not sure if I can sit for that long. Anyway, I've decided to leave it up to you, my loyal reader(s).

I think you should do it!! Although, Dan and I tried to see 3 movies on Thanksgiving day and our backs were sore after 2 - - so maybe it's not such a great idea afterall.
I am more than a little angry that they aren't offering this deal in Columbus. It's probably not worth the gas money to drive to one of the other cities, is it? Oh well!

If you are bored, you can always nap!
Plus you'll be knocking some movies of the AFI list of the future.
If you are interested in seeing two or more of the movies, I say do it. The concessions are worth about $13. If you see one matinee and one evening movie (and consume the concessions), you've hit your $30 break-even point. If you see three (or more!) or get refills on the concessions, you're sticking it to "the man".
Or on a more visceral level - just do it! It'll be fun!
I guess you could be a Gloomy Gus and watch them on DVD at home. Many of these will be released by the time this event rolls around. But you don't want to be a GG, do you?

It sounds like a test of sitting ability I'd love to take on as well. Unfortunately, I'd also have to drive for hours to get to one of the cities. I guess they all go on the Blockbuster.com queue.
