Before the End of Time

I watched some of the Westminster Dog Show last night. I was glad I had recorded it, because they have a lot of filler material and I was able to fast forward to see my favorites: the Sheltie, the Brussels Griffon and new interest, the Bichon Frise. One filler segment I did catch was a chart that ranked the popularity of the different breeds. The reporter presenting the feature said that although the Labrador is currently the most popular breed, the Westie is gaining in popularity. In her words, "I wouldn't be surprised if the Westie moved up to number one before the end of time." I can only assume that she intended to say "before too long" because "before the end of time" is an incredibly awkward turn of phrase. However, I intend to see how often I can work it into conversation. "I'll get that report done before the end of time."

In other animal news, Mom suggested that I share the following, which I told her over the phone last night. Although Lawrence of Arabia was an awfully long movie, it did teach me a lot about camels. Namely, I am now an expert in camel riding. In order to ride a camel, you must sit sideways, with your torso turned to the front. Bend your right knee in front a hook your foot under your left leg. Then say "TUT TUT TUT" and slap your camel with a stick and he will start galloping across the desert. Now that I have this valuable information, the next time I need to ride a camel, I'll be set!
