I've been sitting here trying to think about what's been going on in my life that's worth blogging about. I'm not having any sudden inspirations, so I'm just going to general ramble about little things.
Friday night, JR and I had Portillo's for dinner and saw Ghost Rider. It was pretty meh. I love comic book movies, but much like chick flicks, the genre sometimes lends itself to mediocrity. Although, reflecting, this is probably true of all genres. Some films must be mediocre or even bad, in order for some to seem great by comparison.
Saturday I puttered around the apartment and on Sunday, we went to MH (now MN, due to her recent nuptials) and CN's luau reception. It was a great time, with lots of delicious food and even featured hula dancers.
I'm still a week behind on my movie project, but I did manage to watch Silence of the Lambs. It was good, but not as terrifying as I expected. I assume that the constant parodies have weakened the shock value. Still, it was an interesting plot with great performances.
Since yesterday was Casimir Pulaski day, I celebrated by going grocery shopping. Then I took a nap. A long nap. The kind of nap you want to wake up from, but find yourself stuck. I actually dreamed that I was napping and couldn't wake up and that JR was going to come home and find me napping and be angry. I told him about the dream when he got home and he responded, "I totally would." Then he laughed :)
I've finally found something to completely fill my empty time at work - Google Reader. It's a program that collects all of the RSS feeds from your favorite sites. I added mine and then found that the program lists millions of other feeds, so I loaded up. Now I'm getting all kinds of news and interesting trivia, along with the daily Dilbert. The time goes so much faster and I almost have to press myself to keep up with the items at the rate they come in.
That's about it for it for me. Here's an interesting tidbit for you: my freshman year in college, my women's studies professor claimed that the title of this post is a reflection of our patriarchal society. She claimed that the reference is phallic. Decide for yourself!
