JR left for Hong Kong on Friday, so I had a pretty quiet weekend. Lots of movies, reading and tv. Very little productive stuff. As I was partway through yesterday evening's movie, Stranger Than Fiction, I realized that it was my second Dustin Hoffman movie of the weekend. Saturday, I watched The Graduate in an effort to get up to date with my movie project (I'm still two movies behind). What struck me as particularly odd about the situation is that both movies feature him swimming. I've never really associated Dustin Hoffman with swimming, but I guess that my opinion on that subject has changed.
I'm a little behind on my movie reviews, but I will say briefly here that I really liked Stranger Than Fiction. Here's one of my favorite quotes:
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Hell Harold, you could just eat nothing but pancakes if you wanted.
Harold Crick: What is wrong with you? Hey, I don't want to eat nothing but pancakes, I want to live! I mean, who in their right mind in a choice between pancakes and living chooses pancakes?
Dr. Jules Hilbert: Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes.

I just wanted to agree - Stranger Than Fiction is a great movie. One of my favorites over the last year.
