I just had a "Shut up!" moment. The actor Ted Levine, who played the serial killer Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs also plays Captain Stottlemeyer on Monk. If you've seen both, you'll know how vastly different those roles are.
P.S. He's supposedly also the inspiration for Chris Griffin's voice on Family Guy.
