For Dad: KitchenAid KSM150PSER Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Empire Red. Apparently, everyone in my life needs his/her own KitchenAid mixer. I never thought of Dad as an Empire Red kind of guy, but far be it from me to question Amazon.
For my 5 mo old neice, V: Apple 1 GB Shuffle Metal (2nd Generation). Good to know that in addition to her advanced culinary skills, V has already developed an appreciation for music.
For my mother-in-law, JR: Sports Illustrated for Kids [1-year subscription]. This one defies quipy comments.
How did I ever select gifts on my own before the Amazon gift suggestions???

Seriously - something has to be wrong with those suggestions. Right? I mean, a 5 month old getting an iPod Shuffle? I'm an Apple fan and I believe "hook 'em while they are young" is a good strategy, but come on!
I'll follow your wise move of "no comment" on the Sports Illustrated for Kids for JR, but I have a REALLY big smile on my face right now....
