I've been doing a lot of shopping on Amazon lately. I find it's a pretty convenient source for most things that I need. Anyway, I decided to take advantage of Amazon's gift organizer feature. Basically, it allows you to create a profile for a recipient, including his/her birthday and anniversary, etc. Then, when you make a purchase you can indicate if it was for yourself or someone on your recipient list. Based on what you've purchased, it tries to make recommendations.
The problem is, I have no idea what data they use to make the recommendations. Some of the suggestions that they make crack me up. For example, for my dad, they recommended the Hannah Montana soundtrack. For my niece, V, they suggested the KitchenAid KSM150PSAC Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, Almond Cream. Wow, it even knew which color I should get her! I'd like to think that she's going to be advanced for her age, but I'm pretty sure a 6 mo. old is not ready for her own stand mixer. Let's wait until she's walking first, then we'll see ;)

But I was going to get your dad the Hannah Montana soundtrack! Darn - I guess I'll have to come up with something else now.
