The last few weeks have been crazy and hectic, but thanks to the help of friends and family, we successfully moved our possessions into our new apartment in New Albany. In fact, we like the new apartment so much that it was a little hard to come back to Chicago to face our last two weeks as urbanites.
The only thing broken during the move was JR's obelisk from Rome, which fell when JK got a drink out of the refrigerator. I have to claim partial responsibility because I'm the one who decided to put in on top of the fridge for safe keeping. JR got his revenge later in the day, when he put the furniture sliding pads at the top of the staircase, almost causing JK to fall down the stairs while holding a heavy box. JR says he thought he was being helpful by positioning the pads for the next piece of furniture.
My job search continues to move along. I've received a few follow up calls from the interviews I did a couple of weeks ago and I have several leads I haven't had a chance to follow up on. I would love to have an offer before the move, so I could feel more secure about our finances, but on the flip side it would be great to have a couple of weeks to unpack and get settled in before I get back to the daily grind. I guess we'll just see what happens.
