Veruca Salt

I was going to write today about the Krisp Kringle that the cleaning lady left on my desk, but when I got my cell out to take a photo, I realized that I still have photos from the Veruca Salt show that JR and I saw at the Metro over a year ago, so I thought I'd share those instead.

When I was a sophmore at Maimi, my friend JI and I were dj's for the student radio station, WMSR. One of the songs that was in rotation was Veruca Salt's "Volcano Girls". My preference then (and now) is for a more pop-oriented sound, so I didn't become an instant fan.

JR, however, has been a Saltine (Veruca Salt fan) since their very first album, so I gave it another try when we started dating. Eventually, I found that I liked them nearly as much as he does and I've been fortunate enough to see them perform live three times.

Over the years, the lineup of the band has changed (that story would be an epic post, so I'm going to skip it) and the only original member is Louise Post. To me, Louise is the ultimate pop-rock princess. She's not glammed up in these photos, but here you go.

By far my favorite song is "Only You Know" from the Revolver album. It's the best expression of anger and bitterness since Alanis Morisette's "You Oughta Know".
