HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Our new bathroom ceiling has been installed and will be painted tomorrow afternoon. Otherwise, we are busy fighting colds. JR picked up some kind of bug and woke up feeling under the weather. Today, I'm not feeling so great (although that may just be the stress of trying to plan the department holiday party).

This past weekend was a good one. JR and I had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Spiaggia. We even tried some chicken liver pate, at the suggestion of our waiter. JR liked it more than I did, but the crab cake was wonderful.

Saturday, KD, MH and I had brunch at The Waffle House. It was a good time - the French toast there is amazing and the wait staff were dressed in costume. Afterwards, we went shopping for a family that we have adopted for the holidays. This is the second year we've adopted a family, rather than exchanging gifts among ourselves. Our family this year is a single mother with a six year old daughter. They have an income of $278 per month. I have no idea how they can survive in this city on that amount. It truly makes me appreciate all of my blessings.
