State of the Belly Address

So, it's been a long time since my last post. Should I make excuses? I could, but Mom says I don't have to apologize for anything, since I'm pregnant. So there.

Things have been moving along with the pregnancy. I'm showing a little now and transitioning into maternity clothes. I feel less nauseous and a little more energetic, although I still fall asleep at 6:30 sometimes and sleep the whole night through. I've been busy accumulating clothes and toys at garage sales and we've assembled the crib that we borrowed.

I'm very happy and excited, but sometimes I get busy at work and forget about it for a stretch. Then, there are times when I can think about the fact that my body is changing but not really connect that to the fact that there's a human life inside me.

We're planning to find out the gender, but the doctor won't do another ultrasound until mid-October. We have a girl's name in mind, but we can't agree on anything for a boy. I'm stuck on Jake at the moment, so if you like that, send an email to JR for support ;)

Speaking of JR, he is finished with the bar. He felt great about day one, good about day two and not so great about day three. We're both relieved that it's over and hopeful that we never have to go through it again.

Work is still going well. I have a lot of projects to keep me busy and I like the people that I work with. I was able to flex my schedule to 7:30-4:00 (1/2 hour lunch) so that I can avoid rush hour traffic. It has made a huge difference in my commute time.

That's it for now. I can't make any promises about how quickly I'll post again and I'm sure that the blog's days are numbered since the baby will be top priority once it arrives.
