This summer, I've been having a great time going to garage sales. This past Friday, Captain Cuddle (trying out a new nickname for Mr. Baby, who's not so small anymore) and I joined Amy, her mom and Emma for some bargain shopping. We found a ton of great deals and Captain Cuddle fell in love with a play kitchen. JR had expressed some concerns about whether the play kitchen was masculine enough. He tentatively agreed, if I could find an "Emeril-like" kitchen. Anyway, for $5, I couldn't leave it behind. In the end, Amy and I stuffed her suv to capacity. I'm still not sure how she wedged Emma in among the stuff.
Flush with success, I loaded Mom and Captain Cuddle into the car on Saturday and headed to New Albany for more sales. Operating under the theory that people who paid a million or so for their homes would have great stuff in their garage sales, I had high expectations. Sadly, my hopes were quickly dashed. However, at the very last house, I scored an excellent and unexpected deal. I was able to get 5 ugly dolls (2 large + 3 small) for $1 each!
In unrelated news, I finished my first class at Franklin. It was only a three week introductory course, but I'm happy to report that I earned 100%!
