Anyway, lately it's been harder to think of interesting non-baby focused posts to write. Life in Ohio is not nearly as quirky as Chicago. However, I do think that I should share the details of an incident that occurred a couple of weeks ago.
It's not really uncommon for JR to declare that he's still hungry after dinner. Most often, he remedies this type of situation by having a bowl of cheerios. What made this occasion special was the bowl that he selected.
In case you can't tell from the photo, JR is using the serving bowl for his cereal. This situation reminded me so much of watching boys in the college dining hall use the large salad bowls for their cereal. I think of some of them managed to consume a whole box in one sitting.
The other fun thing I remember about eating in the college dining hall was making "fried ice cream." If I remember correctly, it consisted of a layer of corn flakes, a layer of soft serve vanilla ice cream and a generous sprinkling of the cinnamon-sugar mix (intended for cinnamon toast). All I can say is that we used some creativity to earn those freshman fifteen!
